Hello friends, welcome to my blog.
I look forward to sharing my writing with you on a wide range of topics, from mental health to mindfulness, fitness to philosophy, biohacking to poetry. There is a quote from Jack Kerouac I always loved,
'I have nothing to offer anybody except my own confusion.’
What a pity not to do so, not to explore and share the true nature and depth of our love, light, and shadow. By doing so, perhaps we can remind each other that we are more same then we are different.
There is so much suffering in this life, most of which we inflict upon ourselves. It is my own experience with suffering that gives me the motivation and courage to share these words.
During the darkest moments of my life, I didn't think I would ever get out of bed again, I didn't think I would ever work a job again, I didn't think I would ever be part of society again. In fact, all I wished was for the suffering to end. Climbing out of that hole was like staring up at a mountain from the comfort of base camp, not knowing how to reach the summit nor what was waiting for me when I arrived. It was scary, it was a daily struggle, and it was impossible without the help of others. I don't want lionwolflotus to be about depression. It is, however, important to understand why this page exists. This blog, both of my books, Instagram page, and podcast are about the opposite of depression, they are about life. Exploring, sharing, creating, and connecting. I ended up climbing the mountain, and I can tell you that the view from the top was worth the struggle of every step. I can also tell you that nobody can climb the mountain for you. My summit will not be your summit, my journey will not be your journey. And the truth is, there is no summit. It is not the mountain that you overcome as you climb, it is yourself. My first priority is to keep climbing my mountain, my second priority is to share the tools that help me along my path. Perhaps some of them will help you on yours. I hope you find love and healing somewhere in these pages, be it in the form of a poem, a blog post, or a fitness article. I invite you to take whatever helps and please leave the rest.
May you feed and protect both the lion and the wolf within you, the body and the mind, and bring them together to find your soul.
I wish you love, light, and luck on your journey towards health and happiness.
Arik
